Barrie’s model railway has been lovingly created over the years by an owner who is willing to share his passion. Dressed in a blue terry towelling hat, he is the very picture of a man engrossed in his interest and even donates 50% of the modest $5 entry fee to charity. Comprising 770 feet of track, the model steam train takes nearly six minutes to complete a loop. As with the wonderful model village at Cockington Green, it is the humour represented in the model which makes it so pleasing to visit so to be sure to keep an eye out for rock climbers, nude bathers and the interestingly named shops in the village. To find the railway, look out for the sign on Vincent Street North.
