Style Rider aims to document the world’s most stylish motorcycle riders, be they riders of classic, custom or cafe racer steeds. Focused on the intersection of motorcycle culture with individual style, here we speak to nuclear engineer and Ducati Hypermotard rider Robert Mardus-Hall about buying quality items that look better with age.
Name: Robert Mardus-Hall

Occupation: Nuclear Engineer

Today’s ride: 2014 Ducati Hypermotard
Describe your style: I have a few beautiful things that I try to style my look around. Now that I have finished studying, I am on the lookout for quality items that will look better with age.
Favourite items: Ducati Hypermotard and my first bike, a CT110 postie bike.
Next purchase: New gloves. I have my eye on a pair of Ellaspedes.
Style inspiration: My inspiration is broad. I like what I like and don’t stick to any particular style. In the end, I’m riding a motorbike, not sitting around trying to impress people with the way I look.
Best local ride: Kiama to Albion Park via Jamberoo with its nice smooth roads and sweeping bends.
Best distance ride: I am not a distance rider and get my fix of riding for the day well before 100 kilometres.
Tip for stylish motorcycle riding: Look for riding gear that is not only safe, but that also looks great off the bike like these Clutch Moto jeans.
Next motorcycle trip: Every day I ride through the Royal National Park to work. What a treat.
Why do you like riding? It’s a lot cheaper to own a fast, exciting motorcycle than it is to own a car.
