Allen’s Alterations has been one of the go-to tailors in Sydney for a number of years now. Situated in the iconic Strand Arcade since 2008, the new second floor atelier has been beautifully designed by Dana Vuletic from Ink Interior Architects. Featuring antique mirrors, a simple-yet-effective display of the cotton spools and an intriguing window display of tailors shears, Allen’s projects an image that is a cut above the usual tailors atelier.
Allen himself has been a tailor for over 25 years and his attention to detail is best reflected in his work. Over a number of visits, I have found the quality of work to be high and the service good. It is for this reason that I recommend Allen’s for those crucial alterations, whether it be bringing in the waist on a pair of Japanese selvedge denim, shortening the sleeves on a dress shirt or tweaking a navy blazer to make it sit just right.
