Grazing at Gundaroo

Thirty minutes outside Canberra in the historic 1865 Royal Hotel is Grazing at Gundaroo, a multi-award winning restaurant showcasing some of the Canberra District’s best food and wines. Sunday lunch is a rural treat for city dwellers with main courses of ash dusted Kangaroo fillet with roo prosciutto, cassoulet beans and garden beets, Glenlea Farm grass fed beef with caramelised endive tarte tatin, smoked garlic crème and red wine onions or free range baby chicken with hay baked bacon and celeriac, glazed chestnuts and King Trumpet mushrooms delivering a hearty dose of country fare. The cooking is kept relatively simple, letting the quality local ingredients shine. Service is similarly good and with a winery attached, expect to see a strong list Canberra district wines.
