The Bun Gallery on the western edge of Chinatown must have one of the best value food items in Sydney; a large steamed pork bun for $2.20. It is a filling and delicious snack or satisfying meal when combined with one of the larger dishes on the menu. Situated in the shiny new development opposite UTS on Quay Street, The Bun Gallery is part of the new breed of Sydney Chinese restaurants where you can savour tasty treats without having to put up with the often appalling decor typically associated with Chinatown. The room is pleasantly proportioned with seating downstairs by the glass-walled kitchen and additional seating upstairs accessed via what looks like an ultra-clean Hong Kong alley. The food at The Bun Gallery runs from noodles to soups although any visit without tasting at least one of their buns would be a wasted opportunity.
