Nomad, Surry Hills

Nomad [16 Foster Street, Surry Hills], co-owned and operated by Al Yazbek and Rebecca Littlemore, is housed in the old Spence & Lyda warehouse. The renovation has made the most of the historic warehouse, with exposed brick walls, concrete floors and wooden tables featuring alongside a busy, exposed kitchen. Nomad has a good feel and is well laid out. The tables are close, yet not too close in what is a very big space.

The food was delicious, starting with Clair de Lune oysters, chickpea & benne seed puree and house made charcuterie (the house made charcuterie interestingly features a Wallaby and juniper sausage). Mains similarly impressed with jersey milk halloumi, BBQ zucchini, pine nuts and raisins (the best single dish), tender BBQ carrots and a truly mouth watering BBQ chicken. Good service and a professional attitude are on display at Nomad, rounding out a great overall operation.
