The Cross Eatery is one of a handful of cafes reinvigorating the eating options in Sydney’s CBD (see our piece on the best coffees in the CBD here). Until recently, casual dining offerings of the quality of Sydney’s inner city precincts of Surry Hills and Potts Point have been hard to come by in the CBD. The Cross Eatery signals a reimagining of what constitutes weekday food for busy business people.
Opening a couple of months back, The Cross Eatery is one the best casual eateries in the CBD with efficient, friendly service, great coffee and tasty food. Breakfast is our favourite time to visit with healthy dishes including the Cross Breakfast salad bowl (raw sprouts, kale salad, probiotic cabbage, activated nuts and a poached egg), Brickfields sourdough with half an avocado, or the soft eggs and soldiers being energising choices to accompany your coffee from ex-Mecca barista and owner Marcelo Soto. Freshness is one of the immediate sensations you experience when eating here, and that topped off with a good fit out and quick service, make this one of the stand out choices in the CBD.
