The Coffee Academics is a series of focused coffee houses featuring Slayer espresso machines and a wide selection of filter brewing methods. Their Clever Coffee Dripper (see our guide to making the perfect CCD here), Aeropress and V60 pour overs are all served from a beautiful brass counter in room of wooden bench tops and polished concrete floors. The Wan Chai outlet (see their website for other locations) provides a relaxing place to sit and oversee the street life of Johnson Street. The coffee on my visit—CCD on house blend—was superb, perking me up for the big day of shopping and eating ahead.
