For many a lucky Sydney-sider, Manly is more than just a place to visit, it is also a place to call home. For most though, it is a enjoyable day-trip taking in one of Sydney’s famous sites, the Sydney Opera House, via a return ferry from Circular Quay. The joys of Manly are numerous and cannot adequately be covered on any single day trip. One of my favourite aspects is the varied nature of the place with everything from pounding surf to sheltered coves.
When finished frolicking by the water, your caffeine needs are taken care of by the friendly staff at Barefoot Coffee Traders (11 Wentworth Street), while food options in the area abound including the charming Fika Swedish Kitchen (5b Market Lane). Lastly, while waiting for the sunset ferry back to the city, partake of craft beer or two at the 4 Pines Brewery (43-35 East Esplanade) overlooking the ferry terminal.
